Gigabit Switch

The Major Gigabit Switch provides high performance and is cost-efficient and easy to implement. The plug-and-play switch is a perfect solution for small and medium businesses. For large networks the unit can serve as a good interconnection between the core switch and the edge switch. The Major Gigabit Switch is user friendly, provides secure networking, fast signal distribution and interference-free data transmission.

A resistant 1U steel housing and robust connectors make the Major Gigabit Switch reliable for fixed as well as temporary installations. The device features removable 19“ brackets and an internal power supply. The Major Gigabit Switch can also be used in noise-sensitive areas because it works without a fan.

All connectors (eight 10/100/1.000 Mbps ports) are Gigabit Ethernet via Neutrik etherCON connectors. The ports are designed to be fully redundant to ensure a safe network. Coloured LEDs on the front allow users to monitor the network.

The Major Gigabit Switch is a universal interface designed for networking and providing extended features. The device offers Loopback Detection, it supports standard Ethernet protocols such as RSTP and provides extended safety functionality with the Storm Control feature. This enables redundant cabling options for higher reliability. Further applications such as autonegotiation are also supported by the Major Gigabit Switch.

In addition to the eight 10/100/1.000 Mbps ports, this version includes two Mini-GBICs, installed inside the internal SFP-cages and connected to two Neutrik opticalCON DUO connectors on the outside of the unit. These ports are also designed for redundant signal transmission.
